The RV700 Self-Piercing Riveter (SPR) is part of most OEM recommended methods for joining aluminum panels together and/or removing rivets. The cold forming technique requires no heat and no pre-drilled holes.

The CMO SPR is a reliable tool for riveting aluminum panels together with high dynamic strength. Additionally with the optional kits to be included it is possible to install different types of fasteners like blind rivets and rive-nuts (see RV/ADAPTOR ) and hole punching ( see RV22C).

The RV700 is a battery-operated, hydraulic riveting system that allows the operator to select or adjust the force (kN level) used to insert the fastener based on the type of rivet and OEM recommendations.

The pressure and speed controls increases accuracy and enables the rivets to be inserted without panel distortion.

The micro-control system built-into the I-pump has the capability of recording, and allowing download of riveting data, create specific programs and generate riveting job reports .

The failsafe feature prevents the operator riveting if there is not enough power left in the battery meaning the unit cannot complete the riveting cycle. On the graphical display of the machine it is possible to check out real-time information of the pump, set up and actual installation force, select pressure and store custom riveting programs. The instant onscreen graph is capable to report whether the rivet has achieved the required pressure during installation.

The system has a light regulatory system and diagnoses when there is a fault with the machine and or service is required. The Ipump device is equipped with a USB port for downloading recorded riveting data and firmware upgrades.

The body of the pump and all components are made of tested high resistance materials.

This riveter tool has been designed to be light, compact and have a robust structure. It should be able to operate and perform in all the different work phases when the environment temperatures are between –20° C and +50° C.

The CMO engineers have chosen therefore to make the casing entirely of insulating, shock resistant polyamide material, that has also been reinforced with another layer of fibreglass.

The technology in this riveter unit enables adaption of various attachments for different applications. The electro-hydraulic pump is a pneumatically-driven with a pressure ratio of 1:100. This means that the hydraulic maximum output pressure is 700bar (70MPa). When the equipment‘s preset final pressure is reached, the pump stops automatically and keeps this pressure constant.

The system has extremely rapid advancement thanks to a special double piston technology, characterised by a low-pressure advancement and a slow high-pressure advancement. The conversion from low to high pressure takes place automatically at approx 90bar (9 MPa) and the unit has great reverse capacity for more rapid working cycles.

The hydraulic hose package is connected to the electro-hydraulic pump via a high-pressure hose. The 1.5 m hose is connected to the pump via a leak-free quick release hydraulic coupling in conformity with the CEJN S115 standard.

The ergonomic remote actuator control beside integrating the ON Forward and reverse button is additionally equipped with a LED light that provides realtime status diagnose while the riveter machine is in operation. The hand set has also a fastening clip and integrated magnetic support to be used when in stand-by .

The HMI control has an integrated intelligent electronic module with a large LCD display and additional LED indicators that provide rapid user information & status of the machine.

The progress of compression can be displayed on the screen that shows : pressure, operating time, pressure, program #, battery power and riveting force.

The micro-controller control is very simple to use, selection steps, different phases and program selection are progressed by using the I-drive knob dial. All the data saved into the PCB memory on the unit and can read and downloaded connecting the the mini USB cable connector that is supplied with the machine. The com port is also used to perform Firmware changes, factory settings/upgrades.

The Tool-Software for the RV700 CMO riveter is a license free software that comes with the machine. The riveter Plug & Play auto recognition enables the PC to receive and transmit data, generate job reports and be of further support. At last the traceability software has the ability to incorporate into the reports additional repair details like : vehicle type, registration plate, name of the customer short description of the job.

This program has a built-in calendar that registers the date and clock time of each operation the riveter performs with the corresponding values : b Tool cycle data Counter |Date/time|Total running time|Target level Max level|Chip Temperature| Error & waring msg |

This riveter aims to be a universal tool used when assembling panels with the Self-Pierce Riveting technique. This is a cold joining process used to fasten two or more sheets of material driving a rivet through the layers, installing the rivet onto the vehicle frame.

The different mandrils/dies CMO manufactures are made to suit and fit the different rivets types and sizes OEM request. Along with the 43 mm C-Arm that is included in the starter kit it is also possible to purchase the extra two available arms that are respectively 130 mm and 240 mm in depth. This C-Arms are used when having to rivet parts and places where a wider access is needed.

When using blind rivets or nut rivets CMO supplies two additional optional attachments, ( RVMR/RVMB) separate data sheets are available for those parts.
